hannah

Proverbs 27:17

In Hebrew, sharpen and together are written with the same letters. I keep trying to grow alone. A blade in a drawer stays exactly as dull as it was.

Posting for strangers

Put a verse on your story and it goes to everyone: old classmates, coworkers, people you barely know. Somewhere in there it stops being reflection and starts being performance.

Journaling alone

Start a private journal and it works, for a while. Then a busy week hits, nobody notices you stopped, and the journal doesn’t ask where you went.

devo is a free post-first devotional app: you write your reflection on today’s verse first, then your closest friends’ reflections unlock. No public feed, no followers, no algorithm.

The fig tree devo grows as you show up, at 8 days rooted

Your tree remembers.

It grows when you show up and withers when you don’t. Seasons are remembered, not erased. Plant a new seed and start again.

The gate is the point.

No silent reading. You write first, then you read what your closest friends wrote.

Common questions

What is devo?

devo is a daily Bible-reflection journal you share with your friends. Write what today’s verse is stirring in you, then pick who sees it: just you, your friends, or a group you choose. No strangers and no algorithm.

Is devo free?

Yes. devo is free, with no ads, no paywall, no subscription.

Why can’t I see my friends’ reflections until I post my own?

It’s the rule devo is built on: write first, read second. Post today’s reflection and your friends’ unlock. They can’t read yours until they’ve written one either. The gate works the same for everyone.

What happens if I miss a day?

One missed day is fine and the tree keeps growing. Miss two days in a row and the tree withers. Plant a new seed and start again. The withered tree stays in your past trees, so the season you had is remembered, not erased.
